We had a good day at Bewl on Sunday, although our chairman made a
lame excuse about getting the days mixed-up, so that was one less.
The weather was fine, sunny, and warm with a fair amount of cloud and
there was a stiff breeze from the southwest. We basically had the place
to ourselves; this must have been the lack of fuel or the Olympics
perhaps.
Everybody caught with some really nice fish coming in well over 3lbs.
The most annoying thing was the amount of fish that we lost (I lost
nine) but it made for an exciting day with fish being hooked all over
the reservoir and some lengthy scraps. (As Jim would say "I’ve
never had a day like it!") I partnered Dave Thomas who had his line
broken on two occasions and ended with four beautiful rainbows.
The Gibbs and the Nocks were away so there weren't many of us, Art
and Jenny did turn up in the evening and joined us at the "Brown
Trout" for a welcome couple of beers at the end of a good day.
